Difference between Award and Prize

Award Vs Prize:

Award is a token usually provided to someone for doing something good and well. Award is provided in front of the mass public to the person for doing something great in order to appreciate him and to motivate him to do better in future. Award and prize are quite different from each other award refers to a token or benefit or it can be in any form given to the person for performing better to someone or any organization whereas on the other hand prize means a thing which is provided as a Award for example if John got a Trophie in a Award so here Trophie is a prize for Ali.

Award can be anything provided to the person for his better performance whether its in office, school, university or any other professional organization. Award is given in front of the mass public to encourage the person for his better work. Award is basically a type of appreciation. The main purpose of Award is to motivate the person.

Prize:

A specific item provided to the person as a an Award is known as prize. Both have the same meaning in a term that its an appreciation but in short Award means giving something as an appreciation whereas on the other hand prize is that specific item which is provided to the person. Usually prize is provided for better performance in Schools, universities, colleges, offices etc.

Main Differences Between Award and Prize:

If you perform your work in a better way you are usually provided with an Award in office, school, university or any other organization. The following are some of the major differences between Award and prize.

  • Award is an appreciation whereas on the other hand Prize is the item which is given as a Award.
