Authentication Vs Authorization
There is a lot of difference between authentication and authorization. Authentication means to confirm your identity while on the other hand Authorization means to grant access to the system. The difference between authentication and authorization is quite simple authentication refers to the process of verifying who you are and authorization refers to the process of verifying to what you have access
In simple words authentication means confirming your identity. In other sense authentication refers to the act or process of confirming the truth of a piece of data which had been claimed true by an entity. Authentication is not only used for the conformation of the identity of the person but it can be used for several other things to confirm their identity and truth.
Term Authorization refers to the function or process of specifying or verifying access to resources which is usually related to computer security and informational security. In other words Authorize means to develop an access policy. For example the computer resources of the specific organization can be accessed only by its employees. Because these resources are authorized by the organization only to its employees.
Main difference between Authentication and Authorization:

- Authentication is used to check the person’s details in order to identify him and authorization is used to check user’s privileges in order to access resources.
- Authentication is used to verify user’s credentials whereas authorization is used to validates users permissions.
- Authentication occurs before Authorization of a person.
